It's a fair question — because the honest answer is: it depends on which Model Y you have.

The Tesla Model Y has gone through several meaningful hardware changes since it launched in Australia, and those changes affect which accessories fit correctly. This guide breaks it all down so you can buy with confidence.

The Three Main Generations of Tesla Model Y in Australia

Model Y 2021 – Mid 2025 (Pre-Juniper)

This is the original Australian-spec Model Y. If you bought your car before around October 2025, this is most likely what you have. Boot dimensions, interior trim, and mounting points are consistent across this generation. Most accessories labelled "Model Y 2021–2025" will fit this version.

Model Y Juniper (Late 2025)

The Juniper refresh brought exterior restyling, revised interior panels, and updated boot geometry. Some accessories that fit the pre-Juniper model — particularly boot organisers, side storage bins, and certain mats — do not fit correctly in the Juniper due to subtle changes in panel contours and floor profiles.

Model Y YL (2026+)

The YL is the latest generation and features further refinements. Fitment for YL-specific products is still being tested and confirmed.

Product-by-Product Fitment Breakdown

Boot / Trunk Organisers and Storage Bins

This is the category most affected by generation differences. The Juniper and YL have a revised boot floor profile compared to the 2021–2025 model. Our TPE Flocked Boot Side Storage Bins are designed specifically for Juniper and YL — they will not fit the pre-Juniper Model Y correctly.

If you have a 2021–2025 Model Y, check the product listing carefully for your variant before purchasing.

Sub Trunk / Frunk Fridge

The Tesla Model Y Sub Trunk Fridge 33L fits the sub-trunk compartment on Model Y 2021–2025 and Juniper models. Always check the listed dimensions against your sub-trunk opening before ordering.

Side Fridge

The Tesla Model Y Side Fridge 16L is compatible with Model Y Juniper and the side fridge 15 litre is for the older 202-2024 Model Y.

Camping Mattress

Our Model Y camping mattress fits across all generations — 2020-2024 olde Molde Y and  Juniper — when the rear seats are folded flat. Boot length is consistent enough across all generations for mattress fitment.

Dashboard Mat

We stock specific dashboard mat variants for Model Y 2019–2025 and Model Y Juniper (2026). These are interchangeable — the dashboard curve profile changed with the Juniper refresh.

Brake Caliper Covers

We offer two variants: Model Y 2021 to October 2025, and Juniper / YL from October 2025 onwards. The wheel hub and caliper dimensions differ between generations. Selecting the wrong variant will result in poor fitment.

How to Identify Your Model Y Generation

Not sure which version you have? Here's the quickest way to check:

• Check your build date on your compliance plate — usually inside the driver's door jamb
• Log into your Tesla app — it shows your exact model and year
• Pre-October 2025 = original Model Y. October 2025 onwards = Juniper

Do any accessories fit all Model Y generations?

Yes — our camping mattress fits all generations (2020-2024 Model Y, Juniper) when rear seats are folded flat. The Side Fridge 16L also fits the Juniper and hte 15ltr fit shte 2020-2024 Model Y.

The new YL 6 seater will reqeuire a new mattress design which we will stock in last quarter of 2026

How do I know if I have a Juniper or YL Model Y?

Simply the Model Y has bench seats and the YL has 3 rows of 2 seats.

Are YL Model Y accessories available yet?

We're actively fit-testing accessories for the YL and some products like floor mats and boot liners are available from July 2026.

Some products are confirmed compatible; others are still being verified.
