Your Little Guy is supplied unregistered. Registration isn't included in the price, and organising it is the buyer's responsibility. We'd rather you know the full picture upfront, so here's how it generally works:
- Getting it home from Taree. Campers are collected from the Little Guy factory in Taree, NSW. To tow it home unregistered you'll need an unregistered vehicle permit — a short-term "day pass" covering the trip. Because the journey starts in NSW, this permit is generally issued by Service NSW, even if you live in Queensland or Victoria. Allow time to arrange it before pick-up day.
- Registering in your home state. Once home, register the camper with your state's transport authority. Inspections, paperwork and fees vary by state and by the camper's weight (ATM), so check what applies to you.
Every Little Guy model sits in the lightest registration bracket in NSW, QLD and VIC, so these guide figures apply to all four.
| Your state | Day pass to tow home from Taree | Registration (approx., 12 months) | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| NSW | $28 Service NSW permit | ~$236 first year $84 rego fee + $94 vehicle tax (40% camper discount applied) + $58 plates. Renewals ~$178/yr. | An inspection may be required before registering. |
| QLD | $28 Service NSW permit | ~$168 first year $132 trailer rego (up to 1,020 kg ATM) + $36.25 plates. Renewals ~$132/yr. | No separate CTP needed when towed by a QLD-registered car. Rough Rider (814 kg ATM) needs a pre-registration inspection. |
| VIC | $28 Service NSW permit | ~$90–$100 first year $70.54 rego fee + number plate fee. No TAC charge or duty on light trailers. | Rough Rider (over 750 kg ATM) needs a VicRoads inspection appointment, with extra fees. |
Day pass: you may also need CTP cover for the trip, depending on your circumstances. Fees are 2026–27 figures from each state's transport authority and are rounded. For an exact figure, use your state's online registration quote.
Disclaimer: All costs are approximate, provided as a guide only, and are not a quote. This is not legal advice. Requirements and fees change and depend on your personal circumstances. Registration, permits, inspections, fees and insurance are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in any price or estimate on this page. Please confirm the current requirements for your situation directly with the relevant transport authority before collecting your camper. My Tesla Accessories does not arrange registration or permits on your behalf.
