Why is Supercharging time only an estimate?
Tesla charging speed changes throughout the session. Charging is usually fastest at lower battery percentages and slows as the battery gets fuller. This calculator uses a practical average speed based on the charger type, not the maximum headline speed for the full session.
What target battery should I use?
For everyday driving, many Tesla owners charge to around 80%. For long trips, charging higher may be useful, but charging from 80% to 100% is usually much slower than charging from a low battery level.
This calculator provides estimates only. Actual charging speed can vary with battery temperature, state of charge, charger type, site conditions, vehicle limits, power sharing, software, ambient temperature and other factors.
