What Makes the YL Different?

The key difference between the YL and the standard Model Y (including Juniper) is the seating configuration. The YL has three rows of two seats — a true 6-seater — compared to the 5-seat layout of the standard Model Y and Juniper.

This changes the boot floor profile, the interior dimensions, and the way accessories fit. Some products designed for the Juniper will fit the YL directly. Others need YL-specific variants. And some are still being developed and tested.

We're actively fit-testing accessories for the YL and updating our range as products are confirmed. This guide reflects what we know as of mid-2026.

YL Side Fridge

We're working with our supplier on a side fridge designed specifically for the YL boot well dimensions. The existing Side Fridge 16L fits the Juniper and 2020–2024 Model Y — but the YL boot well profile is different and we won't list a product until fitment is confirmed. Expected later in 2026.

YL Camping Mattress

A custom-fit camping mattress for the YL is in development. The YL boot length and floor profile differ from the standard Model Y and Juniper, so the existing Model Y Camping Mattress is not a confirmed fit for the YL. We're fit-testing and will stock a YL-specific version when ready. Expected later in 2026.
