Turn your Tesla into a mobile power station.
The V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) Discharger draws energy directly from your Tesla's high-voltage battery and is available in two output options: 5kW and 7kW. Select your preferred discharger size above before adding to cart.
Choose Your Discharger
-
5kW Discharger — a practical mobile power solution for compatible appliances, camping equipment, tools, electronics and backup power needs.
-
7kW Discharger — the higher-output option for customers who need the 7kW version.
Important: Price and specifications can vary by selected option. Please check that 5kW or 7kW is selected above before completing your order. The detailed 5kW specifications below are based on the supplier information provided.
What Can It Power?
The V2L Discharger can run a wide range of everyday appliances, electronics, camping equipment and tools, depending on their power draw. Examples shown by the supplier include:
-
Camping and home essentials: fridges, fans, rice cookers, kettles and microwaves
-
Cooking appliances: ovens and induction cookers
-
Electronics: projectors, televisions, laptops, tablets and cameras
-
Tools: percussion drills and cutting machines
-
Personal appliances: hairdryers
Approximate example power draws range from around 10W for a tablet, 20W for a camera and 50W for a fridge or fan, through to around 500W for a rice cooker, 600W for a microwave or hairdryer, 900–1000W for some tools or ovens, 1200W for a kettle and up to around 2000W for an induction cooker or projector.
Actual power consumption varies between appliances. Appliances with heating elements, motors or compressors can also draw extra power when starting. Do not assume that every appliance can be operated at the same time. Check the appliance label and stay within the output rating of your selected 5kW or 7kW discharger, and within the 10A rating of each power point.
We've Tested It — Here's What Actually Works
We put the V2L Discharger through its paces so you don't have to guess. Here's what we ran directly from a Tesla Model Y battery:
- ✅ Electric kettle — boiled a full kettle without issue
- ✅ Toaster — ran perfectly, toast came out great
- ✅ Home fridge — ran continuously overnight
- ✅ Golf cart — charged it without a hitch; handy if you live in an apartment with no dedicated power point
- ✅ Laptop and phone charging — no problems at all
- ❌ Charging another Tesla — we tried it. Didn't work. The receiving Tesla doesn't recognise the V2L output as a valid charge source. Stick to standard appliances.
Bottom line: it's a genuine, capable mobile power source for everyday appliances — just don't expect it to charge another EV.
