Model Y 2025 + Juniper

Tesla Model Y Juniper

The Tesla Model Y Juniper is a highly anticipated refresh of Tesla’s best-selling electric SUV, unveiled in late 2024 and rolling out in Australia in May 2025 for the Launch Version and then June for the Standard version followed by the Long Range version.

This update brings significant design, performance, and interior enhancements, building on the success of the Model 3 Highland refresh while maintaining the Model Y’s dominance in the electric vehicle market.

Here is a review of what to expect when the Juniper is released.

Exterior and Design Updates

Front and Rear Redesign: The Juniper features a sleeker front with slim, angular headlights and a full-width LED light bar, inspired by the Cybertruck’s futuristic aesthetic. The rear also sports a continuous tail light bar, modernizing the SUV’s look while retaining its familiar proportions.

Aerodynamic Improvements: Subtle tweaks to the body and new wheel designs enhance efficiency, contributing to an improved range.

Interior Enhancements

Premium Cabin: The interior mirrors upgrades from the Model 3 Highland, including configurable ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and higher-quality materials. A quieter ride is achieved with additional sound-deadening and acoustic glass.

Tech Upgrades: A 15.4-inch central touchscreen remains the control hub, now paired with an 8-inch rear touchscreen for passengers, offering climate controls and entertainment options like games and video streaming.

Controls Controversy: Unlike the Model 3 Highland’s steering wheel buttons, some Juniper variants retain a traditional indicator stalk on the left due to customer feedback, though drive selection has moved to the screen.
